Nutritional Therapy: What is It?

We are FINALLY here - it’s been a year of studying and clinical work and we’ve made it - i’m officially a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and i am so looking forward to serving you in this capacity. i’ve been doing a lot of thinking through and praying through what this line of work looks like within Pray. Train. Grow. and i’m SO excited to share that come the new year, i’ll have a go-at-your-own pace course to offer. there’s SO much g o o d ahead.

SO - let’s get to it:

What is Nutritional Therapy?

nutritional therapy is a holistic approach to health that focuses on the use of food and lifestyle changes to promote optimal wellness. it operates on the belief that nutrient-dense, whole foods are foundational to health and can help address underlying imbalances in the body. nutritional therapy takes into account the bio-individuality of each person, meaning that dietary needs vary from person to person, depending on factors such as genetics, lifestyle, environment, and current health status. by identifying and addressing the root causes of symptoms, nutritional therapy helps support the body’s natural ability to heal and maintain balance.

What I Do as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner

as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP), i work with clients to assess their individual nutritional needs and create personalized, whole-food, lifestyle, and supplemental-based plans that aim to restore and maintain health. i focus on five foundational aspects of health:

  1. Digestion – supporting proper digestive function, which is crucial for nutrient absorption.

  2. Blood Sugar Regulation – helping to stabilize energy and prevent chronic conditions through balanced meals and lifestyle adjustments.

  3. Stress Management – equipping clients with tools and techniques to mitigate acute and chronic stress/stressors within their particular station of life.

  4. Sleep – helping clients construct a sustainable + season-fitting bedtime/wake routine based on the body’s circadian rhythms.

  5. Nutrient-Dense Diet – encouraging the consumption of whole, nutrient-dense foods tailored to the individual’s specific needs. ensuring a healthy balance of fats to support brain function, hormone production, and cellular health. addressing deficiencies and promoting a nutrient-rich diet for optimal function. supporting overall health through proper hydration.

my role extends beyond nutrition, as i also focus on lifestyle factors such as prayer, physical activity, + rest/leisure, recognizing the interconnectedness of all these elements.

through one-on-one consultations, i guide clients in identifying food sensitivities, improving digestion, balancing hormones, and optimizing overall health, with a particular focus on long-term wellness rather than quick fixes.

i could just cry writing all of this out - what a true and pure gift!

all of this to say, i’m here. and i can’t wait to see where God takes this next season within Pray. Train. Grow. i’ve always desired to be an educator in the wellness space. there is just so. much. information. out there and it’s overwhelming and exhausting.

it’s hard, isn’t it?

what i keep coming back to is this: our God is a God of SIMPLICITY. and i truly believe that when we come back to the basics in our health and wellness… when we begin to practice simple things slowly and consistently - we begin to experience the results we’ve desired for so long.

more energy. less brain fog. more joy. less irritability. more quality sleep. less afternoon crashes. more presence. less aches + pains.

———

the heart of Pray. Train. Grow. is this: all things health and fitness MUST flow first from the Truth that we are His.

when i know WHOSE i am and BELIEVE it - it naturally follows that i desire to care for me.

God doesn’t create trash. He created you. you are not trash.

God only creates what is good. God created you. you are good.

God gifted you your body. All that God gives is a gift. you are a gift.

we don’t trash good gifts. we care for them.

Health and wellness can easily turn into a giant list of to-do’s. It can turn into a mindless, overwhelming, always looking for the next “thing” kinda journey. but there is so. much. more. for you here!

so, all of this to say - i’m over the moon thrilled to expand my practice and walk with women who desire greater overall health - in mind, body, heart and soul.

———

thanks for being here + coming along for the journey. it means so much. + know that i’m here to always be in your corner, too.
